Works well, only needed a thermometer.
I just got this grill to replace a 20 year old Kenmore grill. I don't grill much anymore so wanted a smaller, simpler grill. This fit the bill well. I was scared of the similar Charbroil grill because of the reviews on how difficult it was to assemble. This still has the Charbroil name on it , and the review from the elderly woman assembling it in 2 hours convinced me to buy this.1. This was fairly ready to assemble. I like the screw pieces secured in a cardboard shrink wrap contraption. Kept everything neatly organized. I got scared when I lost a F bolt in the shag carpet, but I ended up with 7 extra f bolts, 2 J screws, and 4 l screws. Maybe this hardware kit was used for a bigger grill also. This took me about 2 hours to assemble also by myself. My only issue was that the silver colored metal diverted at the bottom of the grill should have been attached before the from controller panel. That is because there was one F bolt to a nut that is almost impossible to reach with the front panel in the way (piece is in the submitted picture). I eventually got it in place by hand and was able hold it in place with a socket wrench. I did use a generic Loctite for several f bolts to hopefully prevent bolt loosening.2. I think the design is decent for the cost. I would prefer only one central rectangle hole at the bottom for soot to escape (previous grill was designed like that).3. I have a pressure gauge attachment for the propane tank. This adds about 2 inches to the connector and just fit.4. Fired up the grill after attaching a grill thermometer. This was necessary to know the temperature. It was surprising how much the temperature fluctuates. More than my old grill which cost more. But with the thermometer, I got perfect steak. The grill was a little harder to clean than the old grill, but probably won't be a big issue long term after several uses.

A Great Grill!
To start, this product came to us in the box. We assembled it quite easily with only a Philips head screw driver. We bought the tank, hooked it up and it started within the first few tries with the starter button. Char-Broil makes a great product and this one is as well.Now...Ok, this may be important, it may not; we originally went to a local big box store to buy this product, showing this item and price to the store. We wanted to shop local and still get a good price. We were in the car and I was going to need to go home and get the truck to put the BBQ in the back, in order to finally get it home.Instead, the store chose not to match the price. Big mistake, for a couple reasons;1. I did go home. But I did not have to go back out. This is convenient for me.2. We still ended up getting the BBQ, only we got it through Amazon, for the price we wanted.3. Not only did we get the BBQ, but we checked on a couple other things we had planned to purchase at the big box store and chose to buy them from Amazon as well. Why is this a big deal? Let me explain. You see, we have a truck to put big purchases in. But what if you do not have that advantage? You have to hope you have someone who does. Unless you shop on Amazon. Amazon will bring it straight to your door for you, they use their contracted trucks and save you having to deal with that issue. So, through Amazon, you can find it at a better price and it will be brought to your door, thus saving your needing to find a way to get it home from the big box store. The caviat here was that I had to put it together. But I was willing to buy it unassembled from the big box store in order to save money. They chose not to discuss that option with me.Next, other items we were going to get at the box box store were also bought online because of the convenience of having it brought to our door. Accessories and other items we were ready to purchase, we bought online from the comfort of our patio rocking chairs.People often argue over how society is changing and how the internet is killing local jobs.Remember, that manager had the ability to move product out of his store - which is the primary goal of every retail space; move product. The store manager chose not to match the price, in essence, telling us to go and buy it from Amazon, so we did.

Do your homework to find out what BBQ grill you need, but for my wife and I this is a great pick.
This is a Grill that will last. Very pleased with craftsmanship and quality. We BBQ 'a lot' - even in winter. In summer it takes the heat out of the house. We have it hooked up to our propane tanks for the house and after 7 years in this house has used very little gas.

The perfect entry-point for gas grilling!
We're absolutely loving this thing! After years of grilling on an electric outdoor foreman (our apartment complex didn't allow gas or charcoal grills) we finally upgraded to a propane grill. My budget has been pretty tight, so after seeing the many positive reviews for this model we decided to take a chance on it - and I'm so glad we did.Setup took less than an hour and was a breeze, as all of the hardware and tools necessary for assembly are included. Within an hour and a half I was good to go and was cooking a piece of tri-tip in the backyard! Setup was actually pretty fun, and I felt like I really "got to know" my grill and all of the components. The grill has three burners and a very convenient heating rack that moves in/out of place above the large grill surface as you open and close the lid. The heating rack is great for bread and other items you don't want getting direct heat and flame exposure. The grilling surface is very easy to clean, and even with some pretty vigorous scraping didn't appear to lose any finish. It's big enough for us too, I've fit 15+ drumsticks on it with no issue. Cleaning the inside of the grill is also a breeze, as the grilling surface just lifts out of the barbecue and can be set aside while you clean under and around it with a paper towel or sponge. My only recommendation would be buying a cover for the grill. It doesn't feel cheap, but it also doesn't feel super heavy duty, and a few nights out in the rain would probably put some wear/tear on it. The propane hookup, for example, is almost completely exposed with the open design, and that's probably not something you want getting weathered or damaged.
