Works well.
This product works well but if you have an infestation. If you have the large adult fleas which you have probably already had babies than you are in for quite a challenge. You might as well go ahead and buy two or three containers. I noticed with all the videos a couple of them. They showed their vacuum cleaner and how this stuff does not work. But if you look at it, you can see all the fleas in the vacuum cleaner. However, you’re not supposed to vacuum it all up. You’re supposed to rub it deep into The carpet with a broom. I usually leave mine in the carpet for several days. As long as it is deep in the carpet, it’s not going to harm the animals. It never has in my case anyway. And I have several cats. No where does it say that I could see to vacuum up the powder immediately or even 24 hours. This is the third or fourth time I’ve had to use this stuff. That’s over a three-year period. Once you get your fleas under control then it should be easier for you to keep them under control as long as you keep using this stuff. I went without fleas all winter. We did two treatments. One during summer and one in the fall, and we were flea free all winter until the middle of summer. The fleas that we have been seeing are very small, so we are again doing a treatment. This stuff works just about as good as anything I’ve ever used, probably better. I do not like to soak my carpet with any liquid flea control. I do, however, buy a carpet, flea spray and Spray around the bottom of the baseboards every month or two. That is where the fleas migrate to is the baseboards so you need to spray those regularly. It definitely is a plus.

Poor Reviews UN-Warranted
I have read some of the negative reviews here, and I have to say I just DO NOT GET IT!I have had the unfortunate circumstance of buying and renting several homes over the years where the previous owner was stupid enough to have kept dogs in the house (where they IMHO simply do not belong). Each time the result is fleas that often lay dormant until I move in.I was first introduced to Flea Busters after my wife and I bought our first home (a sprawling beautiful Mid-Century Modern ranch) in Jacksonville FL back in 1994. The house was a dream, and so very beautiful. We could NOT have been happier until about 3 months after we moved in and discovered SERIOUS flea infestation. There was no carpet in the home, it had gleaming Oak Hardwood from end to end. So we figured that there were just some residual eggs that hatched. We sprayed and bombed and thought that would be the end of it.NOT SO! Apparently there was a huge batch of eggs that had gotten laid deep in the cracks of the wood in the flooring. Every week through the summer they got worse and worse to the point where we could not walk ANYWHERE in the house without having dozens of little black dots on our legs by the time we got through a room. We tried every COTS (commercial off the shelf) product we could find and NOTHING would take care of the problem. We hired an exterminator who came and sprayed. Still no joy, these fleas kept coming and with a vengeance. A friend knew of our situation and asked if we had tried Flea Busters. I admitted I had never heard of it. He told me where I could get some and explained that it was nothing but Borax, but that he was certain it would help. Having exhausted every other option we felt we had nothing to lose. When we got the product we read ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS AND LITERATURE and did exactly as the instructions stated! Within 48 hours every single flea was gone and over the course of the 5 years we owned the home we never had another flea.Since then I have proven this product 3 additional times under pretty much the same circumstances. It works! It works perfectly! It works RELIGIOUSLY! It works EACH AND EVERY TIME! ANYONE who found that it did NOT work is either simply lying or they failed to follow the directions and did not perform all the steps required. This product kills the current infestation and prevents re-infestation. IT DOES NOT FAIL!Caveat, a typical 2000 SF home will take about 4-5 containers of this product to treat. It's cheap so don't skimp. Now, I know the typical Amazon skeptic so here is my disclaimer: These are my true and genuine experiences without embellishment or exaggeration. YOU are not qualified to assert otherwise, so any attempt to do so is simply mean-spirited, and childish. If you find the review helpful, use it. If not IGNORE it. But please don't tell me I am being disingenuous, because I am not and you'll only make yourself look foolish!

This works!
We had the bad luck to bring home fleas from the beach house this summer. With a baby in the house, I was nervous about applying any kind of poisonous spray in the house. When an exterminator described how their product genetically prevents developing fleas from maturing, I thought, no way do I want this growth-retardant in the house with my baby! I looked up Fleabusters and read many reviews before deciding to go ahead with this product. The length of time it's been around, as well as the fact that it is listed as part of the safe treatment plan for infestations in schools helped make my decision. Basically, this product is listed as LESS NOXIOUS than other chemical forms of flea treatment. It is even listed as a first step for action by schools experiencing flea problems. That makes me feel a lot better about applying this product and having it present in my home. Since the dust sticks to the fleas and acts as a desiccant, I have less concern about it impacting my daughter's development should she come in contact with any microparticulate that may linger. An external form of killing fleas is better than a poison that affects their nervous system, and by extension, ours! No thanks. We are not home handy nor are we do-it-yourselfers. I was nervous about having to apply this ourselves. My husband applied the product while my daughter and I left the house. He said it was a lot easier than he anticipated, and it took a lot less time to do the whole house than he thought it would! That was a pleasant surprise! Having said that, he did say that it created a lot of dust everywhere as he applied it. I had spent $3 on a respirator mask at the local hardware store to prevent him from inhaling it as he worked. We spent a night out of the house just to let it sit, then he came home ahead of us and vaccuumed the carpets, dusted down the house a bit, opened some windows. My daughter and I came home to the house and I didn't smell anything or experience any negative skin or allergic reactions of any kind. No more bites for about a week! The next cycle of fleas must have hatched at that point, cause I got 1-2 bites over the next day or so, but that was so much less than what we had initially experienced! After a few more days, there was nothing. This stuff was a wonderful solution to the flea problem we were experiencing! It has been about a month now and I am very pleased to say we haven't had any further troubles. I would highly recommend this product, particularly given that both my young daughter and I are very sensitive to many everyday products. Neither of us has had a reaction to this product in our home. Thank you Fleabusters! Without a doubt, an inexpensive, chemical-conscious way to handle the fleas.

flea buster
It's now a year later. The product worked very well and I attacked on all fronts simultaineously and had success. Only when I had my carpet cleaned did it get no longer work. But the instructions will tell you this. I will use this again 'cause the beast has brought some in and is being attacked. Again it's all fronts. It's still hard for me to do this because I've become a codger and some of the funiture I can't move and that's when I use spray. But I highly recommend this product it's a bit messy but worth the effort. I did my carpet in two doses because I was impatient (not that I think a double dose made a difference)This is now an edited later update. March 5th.I keep the same 5 stars. My poor old pound hound (came flea free) picked up fleas from a local park and it was sad to see how badly off she was with bites around her ears and tum, some red with some at the bleeding stage and hardly getting time to heal before there was another and she never got rest. I reviewed many product and decided on this and it was the best spent $40 ever. Lot's of products fail to kill the pupae.I put the FB into the carpets and for sure there's a lot of escape dust because the product is so fine some settled on furnishings I didn't cover. The carpet puffed some dust for a few days but that was ok (just keep your electronic equipment covered). It stated that it would take a about 3 to 4 weeks to show it's working and that it did. I left it for about a week before vacuuming so it would get a bit trodden in and I was a bit impatient 'cos some guys were still hopping (but tiny ones) so I gave the carpets another dose and began the vacuuming regimen again. I vacuumed every day after that and it sucked up those nasty little critters. It was worth it. I had to use a spray for under the beds because they were too heavy for me to lift. I tackled the problem from all fronts similtaneously. House, pet shampoo, topical(I gave that a three day pass before), and bedding and the spray. Peace at last....peace at last, great jumping dog treats,.... peace at last. I know that many reviewers discussed the toxicity issue and how they felt that this product improperly represented itself but eventually you have to assess whether you want your dog to continue suffering while you seek out alternatives and risk the pet consuming fleas or you take some chances, its a darned if you do and darned if you don't. Frankly the dog won't mind either he/she just wants to get some peace. I don't know why this product doesn't work for everyone but those pesky critters are like roaches, resilient, and dead crafty. It's worked for me although it was really strenuous (I'm not as strong as I used to be)however, my hound is at peace and so much so that she is currently propping her nose of this keyboard. Occasionally pressing on a letter and giving multiple ddddddddddds etc. I had success. I hope that you do too.

Please keep cats out of contact with product
Works well. Please keep your cats out of contact with product until you clean it up. My cat became ill and after a very expensive veterinary bill, the veterinarian told me cats lick their paws and invest the product. It settles in their joints and causes extreme pain. She needed a steroid shot and fluids. The other day refuses to come in the house and it is 102 outside. The product is very effective but just be careful with cats. The company needs to include better instructions on how and where to apply and also a video.
