Bates' Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking Twelfth, North American Edition

Great for H&P assessments

I had an older edition for school, needed the newer edition. Great text, both book and pocket guide, then and now.

This is honestly one of my favorite products. As a nurse practitioner student it definitely helps with completing physical assessments. I even use it now as a new grad nurse practitioner. I think this is a great resource for students and for working individuals to just as a reference.

Seidel was our required textbook for Medical Practice at my medical school, but after having experienced baby Bates in undergrad, decided to purchase this one instead. So glad I did, because the physical exam sections are set up so that if a patient has any abnormal signs or answers to questions, Bates gives you guidelines about differential diagnoses right next to the question, doing a lot of the inductive reasoning for you. I think Bates' pictures are better than Seidel's as well. Would purchase again, and have recommended it to my classmates.

I know this book is better than I give it credit for but I just have a hard time getting into it. Maybe it's too long for what it's trying to teach. Maybe if they condensed it a little bit more. I still have it and may use it someday.

There were numerous reviews that these books were falling apart. I have not had this issue. The book has good information, was in good shape and has been very helpful for my class. It will be a good resource for years to come.

These whiteboards are sturdy with no blemishes. They look like they will hold up well. The price was right and they arrived the same day as they were ordered!

I bought this book for my daughter as she is going to school to become a PA. This book is essential.
