Elegant Soutache Hardcover – October 18, 2016

WOW - This book is incredible. It's basically a reference guide for soutache. Plus, it has some excellent projects with VERY good instructions.First -this is a HUGE book. You can't tell that from the 'preview'. It has a whole section on techniques. I've just sat and made some of those for practice. Very clear instructions.Then -there is a project section. It appears to be organized by skill set with the easier ones in the beginning. I started with the turtle. I'm a beginner and I think that is probably an advanced beginner project. But I was able to make a very successful project.Plus- an 'item' list is provided, but you can make this with your stash - and be quite successful. It's not one of those that you have to 'follow the recipe' to have it come out well.I plan to do a few more projects, and then using the techniques in the book - branch out into my own designs.Thank you for a WONDERFUL book!Note: I have never taken a class with the author, nor do I know her personally. However, this book is fabulous, and I did check out her website (Amee Runs With Scissors). It looks like she has excellent kits and supplies - including some for the projects in this book.

I have several Soutache books and this one is my ABSOLUTE GO2 Favorite!!!Over 260 pages of Soutache goodness!! Most bead books are half that size!It's very detailed and thorough - helps you every. step. of. the. way.!Fantastic step by step photos to refer to as well.And for the more advance Soutache artists there are these funky cool projects that are AMAZING!!!I can't wait until I'm well-versed enough to do the Soutache flower in the back part of the book - 36 Soutache braids for the center alone!! That's Expert level! =oO I'll have full confidence I'll get there because I have this amazing book!So it's a book for beginners and experts alike.I'm showing a photo of my first attempt (at the time of the photo I'm not quite done with it....). I couldn't have gotten this far without this fantastic book!

Everything you could want to know about soutache embroidery, in a single volume.Clear and easy to understand, it is also BEAUTIFULLY assembled, a work of art in itself.

Love Aimee's book, great pictures and concise patterns with lots of pictures.

I just received Amee's book and I'm so glad I did. If you are interested in the art of soutache you won't find a better place to start. I have been doing crafts most of my life and was fascinated by the endless possibilities. Amee is very professional and still manages to talk to beginners on a level that keeps this intricate art from feeling over complicated. Each time I look through these designs I see things I would not have thought to try and I consider myself fairly imaginative. If you want to try this craft you should start with one of the best instructors I've found online. If not this book try one of her kits and also enjoy the free tutorials on her website.
