I think it looks like it's manure compost as described. It's not much but you don't need much. Manure compost is very potent and strong. I am excited to see the results for my outdoor plants.edit: taking off a star because there are better values for more quantity, but the smell of this is clearly manure compost so don't worry about the people saying it's not. It's dry but just add water and it's not dry anymore. My plants are looking good after adding this

I ordered this Premium Organic Compost Screened 2 lbs for purposes of adding to a seed mix variation. Upon receiving this, I started laughing at the bag and contents, it was so pathetic. I've never seen compost (if it's even compost) so poor quality and nasty smell. I thought I noticed something flying in the bag so I dowsed the complete bag in boiling water to prevent anything invading my home (outside/inside). This was absolutely the worst stuff. I could dig a hole in my garden, drop it in a bag, and sell it on Amazon and it'd be quality, not this so-called 'Premium' trash.If you've ordered this stuff, DON'T OPEN THE BAG. Take it to your nearest off-property trash can and dispose of it. AMAZON: This vendor and product should be looked into. Something is afoul here.

I used this because I was planting garlic for next year. I mixed it into the soil and planted the garlic. It is coming up already. Its too soon. I planted garlic in the same spot last year but I did not use the compost. The garlic did well but did not come up until the spring. So, it works too good. I am hoping that I will have garlic next year. Because I did not expect it to grow so soon, this year.

2 lbs is not much to begin with and it is very expensive for the amount you receive. It seems like it is mostly Peat Moss which is VERY inexpensive. Go to Home Depot where you can get a huge bag of actual compost for A LOT less!
