Perfect to get your older Homelink to work with newer garage openers
My car is 10+ years old and has Homelink buttons built-in for the garage door, but it doesn't directly work with the brand new opener I installed. This product was the solution. For me it was 3 simple steps:1. Plug in the main unit near your new garage opener2. Use the included remote to (re)program your car's garage opener buttons3. Use the "Learn" or "Program" process of the garage door opener to add in the button in your car as a new remote controlThe whole process took me about 5 minutes. And I put the main unit in a plug on the ceiling of my garage, so I had to do a bit of climbing for that, but I wanted it very close to the opener, and don't have many outlets in my garage. It works great and now all our vehicles can open the garage when we come home.

Excellent product
I had talked with garage door opener contractor about a new opener. However he told me there wasn’t any way for the new opener to work with my old Homelink in my truck. I told HIM about this product and he said he’d never heard of it. Needless to say I didn’t hire him and just ordered a new opener and this adapter at the same time. It saved me over a $1000 dollars by doing it myself. And this adapter works great! Highly recommend this product and was very easy to install.

It Works
I got new garage doors and openers and neither of my vehicles (2001 Sequoia and 2009 Ram 2500) Homelink was compatible with the new openers. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this product but was pleasantly surprised. With just one unit I was able to get both openers connected to both vehicles allowing me to remove the remotes from both.

Inconsistent - But it does work
Just a complaint in general, why not just build products with backwards compatibility. We replaced one of our two garage door openers with a MyQ unit. So of course, none of our old remotes, not the Homelink in my 2012 model car worked. So, the homelink gateway was needed.I get mixed results. Some days, I can open my door from several houses down via Homeline in the 2012. Others, sitting right outside the garage and it doesn't work.Fortunately, I do have the MyQ app, so I'd not be stranded outside my home. However, I expect it to work consistently. My complaint is about the whole eco-system here. Add in the Chamberlain no longer supports Google Assistant (or others) and it's mediocre at best.My 4 star rating is being generous.

Does not work
Beyond frustrated with Chamberlain, not only did I spend 40 dollars for a feature that should have been included from the beginning but it just flat out does not work. I went through the setup steps 7 times and the best I got was a one time close. I'm tired of the ugly remotes and I want the buttons in my car that are designed for this to work but they just flat out do not. Chamberlain is an awful company and I regret ever giving them money.

Solved my connection problem!
Was trying to connect an older car to a new overhead garage door opener with an older hand unit. Called company, they told me it was never gonna work, don’t waste your time, just get the updated one. Which I did, and immediately solved my problems.

Programing Tip
Had a new top of line Liftmaster opener installed a few weeks ago. The Homelink worked with the 2023 Santa Fe but not with the 2011 Lexus RX. The installer then installed the RPTR bridge. Same problem! After viewing several You Tube videos I concluded that if it was going to work at all I needed the newer RPTRMC and later confirmed my conclusion with Homelink. I purchased the RPTRMC but I had a great deal of difficulty getting it to link with the 2011 Lexus until I finally got someone at Homelink with a suggestion that worked. That suggestion was to plug the bridge into an extension cord so that it could be closer the the vehicle on the initial set up. After that it could be unplugged and moved to its permanent location. It finally worked. The entire reason for this review is the hope that this suggestion will help others who may be experiencing the same difficulty. As I side note, while I like the new Liftmaster opener, I am very disappointed that I had to go thru all of this with a top of line opener not to mention the extra cost involved. As for as I am able to determine, this seems to be a problem with Liftmaster and Chamberlin openers. I wish I knew that when I opted for the "best." Looking back I could have purchased a lesser model of a different brand at a big box store; had it installed, and would not have had this problem. All at almost half the cost. Lesson learned.

Works but unreliably spotty transmission.
It works. But not all the time. Very spotty with the transmission and need to be really close to it at times. And at some times it just doesn’t work at all. It could use some more advanced antenna to get the job done. A star for function and a star for ease of setup. But 3 stars off for reliability, big issue.
