Light works well for looking at the ground without stooping like weak flashlights require. This unit is nice and bright in both frequencies. I also like that it uses normal AAA batteries, you can get a rechargeable battery for it but I haven't done that. Walked out in the desert on a very cold night and was surprised to find two scorpions - I was not expecting to see them! Also found a few flourescent rocks of different colors. Activates my glow-in-the-dark paperweight with ease.The only thing I don't like is that when it is on there is no indication of whether you are using shortwave or longwave. Using the switch toggles between them (which is fast and easy to do) but if you need to know which one is on you have to memorize a portion of the user manual, and you cannot use both frequencies at the same time.Lastly, the light isn't filtered, it is very easy to damage your eyes without realizing it. You have to always remember NEVER to look at the light emitters when the unit is on. But that is true of all UV lights.

I don't have experience with blacklights in terms of using several different brands but I have used various ones over the years. This one is pretty nice.Simple on/off pushbutton at the end, adjustable from wide beam to tight spot, sturdy aluminum body, Uses AAA or 18650 battery (s).I have rechargeable 18650 batteries and I prefer them.The 3 push button switches on bright, next dim, next off and different wavelengths really do show different things.I don't know if the price is high or cheap, But I like how it works. I might buy a couple more for my kids living out of state.

I use this like for so many things, curing small UV resin projects, finding uranium glass in thift stores and seeing the glow in rocks and minerals. Battery lasts a while and it's a good sized light.

This works good at dusk and night to spot tomato hornworms that are eating my tomato plants. The worms turn a bright almost florescent green under this light.

I bought this so I can harden that green paste stuff you put on motherboards to seal off connections you don't want to come together and make contact. This light definitely works. What I like about it is that I can use one of my old use 18650 cheap lithium-ion cells to power it and I don't have to worry about the batteries since I can just recharge this cell. It also feels sturdy and the case is made out of aluminum. It does have some weight to it also. It's fairly easy to use and you don't really need to read the manual to understand how to use it because it's really common sense. It comes with a plastic cover for the 18650 battery to guard it from grounding out on the flashlight case, and also a shirt or belt clip. For the price, it's a good small UV light.

Works great, found a bunch of cat pee residue from previous owners in new home so I know where to work out the stench. Definitely like having the two diodes. I know some people complain about the lack of a battery but I have several flashlights that use 18650s and not having to purchase a new battery is a big perk. Saves me money and I know I'll get the power output I expect. Reminding myself to throw on some glasses next time because my eyes are fatigued. This thing is the real deal. Only downside is now I'm definitely not going to hear the end about my own pee splatter from the lady...
