Q: hi! can anyone tell me what the attachment that looks like two ink nibs is? and what you use it for? thank you :)

Hi, Its a type of pen which you can use to draw circles in ink. You put a small drop of drawing ink between the nibs and adjust the screw to open or close the gap which regulates the width of the line. They are tricky to use but great if you need a wide line. If you need to draw circles and arcs in ink its best to use a drafting pen (Rotring or similar) and adaptor. Hope this helpsCP

Q: What kind of metal is it? Is it made of stainless steel?

Hi KB, I'm not entirely sure but the compass is not magnetic. Other drawing instruments I have are made from brass then electro plated. I guess this is the same. The pen nib is definitely made from a brass coloured metal. Hope this helps CP
