Dependable
Over the years I have owned quite a few different types of incubators and the Hovabator remains one of my favorites. This is the first time I have ever purchased one with a digital thermostat, and I am quite impressed. I always place rags or towels folded on the top of the incubators (being careful not to cover up the air holes) to help keep the temperature more steady, and I am impressed with how steady this incubator is. Our house fluctuates about 10 degrees at night vs. the day and the temperature hasn't changed much. The fan is quiet overall (sounds like a small fan). The display light is quite bright, but I just put a cloth over it so it didn't shine quite so much. It is set up in a bedroom and was as bright as a nightlight!Obviously you have to be careful with these because they are styrofoam, but as long as they are taken care of these remain very dependable for hatch after hatch. I guess the one complaint that I have with this new one vs the older models is the bottom rack (what you put down on the bottom of the incubator if you don't have a turner, or for the last 3 days before they hatch) is now plastic and it honestly looks like a very cheap plastic. It has always been metal in the past, which held up to wash after wash. My guess is this plastic one won't last long.Overall I would very much recommend this for anyone looking for a dependable machine.

Working great for snake eggs
I finally replaced my ancient Hovabator with a new one. This does the job for incubating snake eggs, Keeps the temp within a degree of set temp. If you have a lot of clutches of large eggs the size may be a limitation but for a few clutches of colubrid eggs it's fine. The one thing I dislike is that it is hard to see whether or not the trays need water added or not with a clear insert against a white styrofoam background and clear water inside. The digital thermostat is a huge improvement over the old Hovabator where you had to turn a dial and hope to get it right.

Great Incubator!
I have an older version of this incubator that's fully manual and we loved it so much so we got a new one to have an incubator and a hatcher so we can hatch continuously. This model is even better! It has the forced air fan and preset temperature (which reads higher than it actually is) it reads at 100.2-102.6 but my trusty mercury thermometer says it is actually a perfect 99.5 each time I check regardless of the number on the display. It heats up and maintains temperature very quickly and well and the fan is not too loud, think computer fan level. The design in this one is better than their previous in that the grate that the chicks hatch onto is plastic and fits very well into the incubator. The previous model has wire mesh that has sharp edges and needs to be covered with something softer for hatching. I also don't see how a chick could end up in the water reserve, which has happened with the metal mesh in our other hovabator. Overall I would recommend this incubator to anyone not wanting to buy a cabinet incubator; I've tried other brands and this is the only one I trust for my babies.

Perfect in every way!
I would give more stars if I could!! We had tried a different incubator for bearded dragon eggs and it had a manual control. Even though we used a second thermometer, it was too touchy. The slightest turn in the temperature dial would get it too hot or too cold very Willy and we lost our first clutch of eggs. Once we got this beauty it was SO EASY!! Temperature was completely accurate and started stayed steady! We used a second thermometer just to be sure, and it was always right on! We've hatched over 20 eggs successfully. Love it. Very quiet as well when running. Wouldn't use any other!

Very Noisy Fan. Definitely adjust the Temperature control
I used 3 separate digital thermometers to get a consensus reading of the temperature levels inside the incubator. In my case it was running too cool so I had to bump up the temperature by full 2 degrees F (close to the maximum adjustment). Once set, it kept the temperature well. You definitely, absolutely need to calibrate the thermometer - it does not ship to you with an accurate preset. My biggest complaint is that this incubator is extremely loud with its built-in fan. There is no need for the fan to spin that fast - it's just a tiny box after all. I hope the little chicks don't get their hearing damanged from staying inside this noisy place for the first 3 days of their life.I'm using this as just a hatching incubator, so I can have multiple batches of eggs incubatin at the same time. This incubator seems simple enough to clean - there are very few spots that are difficult to reach with a good cleaning solution.

Great incubator , but there is room for improvement !
GQF products are well known as solid products, This model is no exception and once the temperature is adjusted , it holds steady within a few tenths of a degree ; however , it is hard to adjust , and the adjustment instructions included are not accurate. in fact most of the other available incubators, including Farm innovators, and little giant are much easier to adjust, and no screwdriver is required. As a plus, this unit has a powerful fan which provides much better air circulation, and seems to have a computer designed profile built into the body of the unit to provide optimal air circulation and uniform temperatures;however, this fan motor is exceptionally noisy and could use some isolating mounts to help quiet the loudness. Another weak area is the design of the humidity channels, since it is necessary to remove the top to add waterOverall a good unit that works well, but GQF needs to do a little work to improve it before the Chinese models, which are already cheaper replace it in the marketplace !

I got better than 85% hatch rate
I hatched a batch of guinea eggs from my hens. I got better than 85% hatch rate. This unit was a good price, temp was stable humidiity was easy to control, the view windows come in handy when hatching starts. I turned the eggs manually 2-3 times per day. I wrapped the unit in a blanket per another reviewer's suggestion.
