Classic Nursery Rhymes

I haven't looked at this book properly yet as I ordered it as a birthday present for someone to give to me, but it looks delightful and is an affordable price.

Quality hardback with silver edged pages to match the silver embossed binding. Exactly what it says on the cover... this is a collection of classic nursery rhymes, each one beautifully illustrated... there is a section at the back with music scores for each song.... originally published in 1916, this is a special addition to any wee person's library....

This is a beautiful book but as it was a gift for a Christening I wanted to remove the price/bar code tag on the back cover. Disaster, it now looks damaged and no good for intended purpose :(

I was thrilled to finally receive this beautiful book (A perfect Christening present) - unfortunately having left very clear instructions on my door where I needed parcel to be left, it wasn't (I think there is a problem with some Amazon delivery drivers not being able to read English (I don't mean to be disrespectful but I seriously believe this to be a problem as has occurred before) I also had a parcel arriving from H&M on the same day and they had no problem reading the instructions! That said AMAZON absolutely brilliant with their customer service and did an amazing job making sure it was re-delivered to me on Saturday just in time for Sunday Christening ... "Thank you Amazon"! Now the book ... Stunning but oh, no (I remember reading a review about the ruddy great sticky label stuck on the back of the book (No,no, no - suppliers - you just should not do this!!) - I spent ages trying to pick it off (what a mess) then the absolute big mistake I made was using some sticker remover solution - left a horrid large stain on the book - I was absolutely gutted! Come on guys - think about the stickers you are using - the book is a real Keepsake and ruined by a stupid price sticker! I want to order this for my Grandson's first Christmas but do not want it if it has a price sticker on it - I will need to contact seller first to confirm that! But the book itself is beautiful and I remember my Nursery Rhyme book (in the 60's) having exactly the same pictures - the illustrations are stunning and wonderful that there is music score at the back of the book!

It has long been a family tradition for mum to buy her grandchildren this book. Unfortunately due to very poor health mum has not been able to do this for her great grandchildren so I took over the tradition. The book itself is a thing of beauty with lovely illustrations accompanying the nursery rhymes. The rhymes themselves are the traditional versions so may not be to everyone's taste!! I see that there has been criticism that the label on the back showing the price etc cannot be removed without damaging the book. I find that with a cloth to protect the book and using a warm iron the label comes off easily without damage to the book

these books, bought for a christmas stocking filler for two small grandchildren, one girl and one boy. The most beautifully illustrated books especially for the price you will find, only trouble is the price ticket on the back, do not try and remove it, will spoil the cover, just put a sticker over the back. Really surprised with these books and will definitely buy again when my other grandchildren get a little older

These Rhymes can be read to our grandchild by us or her parents to provide comfort and conversation with her over many years. The book would not last five minutes in her tiny hands and most likely be eaten.Yes some verses in the Rhymes might have a darker side but these can be read to her when she is older and discussed at that time.Which is why the age question below is largely irrelevant.

The media could not be loaded.  This book is beautiful. It has a navy linen with a silver emboss. The pictures are so beautiful and I love that it’s got the music for nursery rhymes in the back as well and there’s rhymes I’ve never heard of so nice because they can get repetitive. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a classic traditional book that is beautiful enough to be passed down. A great baby shower gift as well.

I bought the book Classic Nursery Rhymes for a gift. The classic nursery rhymes I am familiar with are all there and presented with lovely illustrations. There are also Music pages which makes it possible to learn and sing the songs.The front cover and back is illustrated with silver etchings. This book will bring back memories and pass them on.
