Impressive device!
The media could not be loaded. I want to start by saying this holographic fan is genuinely impressive. This was my first experience with a device like this, and I was blown away by the sharpness and detail of the image. The resolution is comparable to what you’d see in a Meta Quest 2 VR headset—vivid and immersive. When the fan is running, the display area spans roughly 27.5 inches in diameter, making it a bold visual feature. I’ve mounted mine on the wall in my office as a permanent graphics display, and I’ve been using custom MP4 loops that I created myself.Yes, you can upload your own videos and graphics using either the SpinDisplay mobile app or your desktop/laptop. The fan includes Bluetooth audio syncing, allowing it to transmit embedded audio tracks from your uploaded videos or images to any Bluetooth receiver and corresponding speakers. I’ve seen reviews mentioning the app doesn’t work—but it does. That said, the setup process isn’t as straightforward as most mainstream apps, especially if you’re not familiar with IT or network configuration.Think of it like setting up a RoboRock vacuum. You can’t just install the app and go. Here’s what worked for me:1. Download the app and power on the fan.2. Go into your phone’s WiFi settings, disconnect from your home network, and make sure “auto-connect” is turned off.3. Refresh the WiFi list and look for an unfamiliar network name (something like “F70-qwrEaceT”).4. Connect to it using the default password: 12345678 (ignore the closing parenthesis shown in the instructions).5. Once connected, wait about a minute, then open the app. If it doesn’t auto-connect, force close and relaunch it. You may need to repeat this a couple of times. Something else you will need to do is to make sure your location settings are enabled for the app.The app itself is partly in English and partly in Hanzi—randomly, not as translations. It’s a little awkward, but with some patience, you’ll figure out how to navigate it.I created a few static images and a short video loop using free editing software and successfully uploaded them to the fan. My initial uploads didn’t have a strong 3D effect, which is expected. There’s an extra step required to format your MP4s for proper 3D rendering, so don’t expect plug-and-play functionality right out of the box.To really take advantage of what this fan can do, be prepared to do a bit of learning. You’ll need to source the right editing tools and invest some time into getting everything dialed in. If that sounds like too much, the app does include a download library of ready-to-use content for immediate use. Now, for the one drawback: noise. The fan isn’t silent—it sounds similar to a low-powered industrial fan. I haven’t enclosed mine yet, but I’ve read that placing it in an enclosure can help reduce noise. If you go this route, consider adding acoustic foam or mass-loaded vinyl (MLV) to the back or sides. You could also build a custom acrylic enclosure, just be sure to include ventilation. Treat it like a computer case: add intake ports near the bottom and install a couple of USB-powered 80mm fans near the top to exhaust heat.Overall, this is a truly amazing piece of technology. If you’re willing to put in a bit of time and effort, it has tremendous potential. I hope this review—and the attached video—are helpful for anyone considering this very cool device.Side note: The video really doesn’t do justice to how vibrant and crisp the hologram looks in person. The colors are far more vivid, and the resolution is much sharper when viewed with the naked eye. Also, just to clarify—the black “pinwheel” effect you might notice in the video is caused by my camera’s refresh rate. It’s a stroboscopic effect and doesn’t actually appear on the display itself.

Nice Holofan. Here's what I did
Nice HoloFan. I created several videos up to 2 minutes long and they all fit on the included memory card and were able to be displayed. I made the videos square or 1:1 at 1080x1080 so that I could use the full diameter of the fan. The videos were created on my computer, then I uploaded them to my OneDrive cloud, then downloaded them to my iPhone, then uploaded them to the fan thru the Spin Display app. I haven't had any issues with the fan connecting to my iPhone's wifi for fan control and video transfer. To connect the iPhone to the fan using wifi: 1) Plug in the fan and wait 10 seconds. 2) Go to settings on iPhone, then Wi-Fi and look for the fan's wifi name (mine was F70-.....) and select it. 3) put in the fan's wi-fi default password of 12345678. 4) Once the wifi connects go to the Spin Display app on your phone. EACH time you want to connect to the fan you need to go thru steps 1,2 & 4. When assembling the fan there are two "A" blades and two "B" blades, each needs to be assembled in the slot with the corresponding letter. A's are across brome each other and B's are across from each other. The white LED strip needs to be facing outward, all blade lettering faces towards the motor. The display is very bright even with daytime ambient light (not sure about full direct sun) For best effect your video should have a black background so that it'll look like its floating there like a hologram, otherwise if it is a bright background it'll look like a spinning disc/fan. The fan is not terribly loud although it does sound like a fan due to the blades spinning so fast. THe fan came with a bracket. I drilled and tapped a 1/4"x20 hole in it so that I could use it with a standard tripod mount for the free standing base.

I like this one!!!!
This hologram fan blew me away! The image quality is sharp and vibrant, and setup was easier than expected. I used it for a store display and got tons of compliments. The app and remote make updates simple. Definitely a showstopper! Highly recommend!!

Arrived defective
This is part 2 of this review - scroll down for the first part:So the replacement arrived with the exact same defect. You can snap 3 light blades into place, but not 4. This is actually dangerous as this thing gets spinning fast, and even an 8 oz light blade can do serious damage when it gets flung from the central hub.I do not recommend buying this product. Shabby construction has led to a wasted week. Will look for a better brand.First, I have submitted for a replacement, which will be here in 2 days.. I will update this thenI ordered the 27.5”. The fan is easy to assemble (or would be… more in a sec) and the app is intuitive, if a bit slow and clumsy (avg for Chinese electronics). The mount is of high quality and fits well. The problem: one of the arms would not click (secure) into place. It wasn’t one specific arm - 3 would click and the fourth could not seat itself far enough into the hub. There are diodes etc at the very edge of the blade (board) so modification wasn’t possible. Additionally, one of the four light blades had about 30% defective LEDs.I am hopeful the replacement is better as this could be realllly cool
