Best stairs ever!
We bought these stairs because the quality looked really good and we liked the fact that they have grips on the steps. We purchased it with the intentions of helping my daughter learn how to go up and down stairs for her evaluation due to the fact that we don't have any stairs in the home so she has never been able to do them before. Within minutes she was going up and down this thing. It is very sturdy and was fairly easy to put together. There were some comments about people saying that it is wobbly or that the screws don't quite fit right or align right. We haven't had that issue we used a drill as somebody else's review recommended. As long as you screw in from bottom to top when you screw in the last piece everything will align together once it's tight. It seems very sturdy and haven't had any issues so far.

Low profile stool that combines safety and space-saving
We’ve had this stool for two years now. It was perfect for our 18month old (whose now almost 3!), and I think it will work for us for another few years. He loves making cookies with me, and it lets him play with his toys at the counter while I cook. It’s not as safe as a Montessori tower (see below—could be a problem for very adventurous climbers) but I am comfortable with the safety features it has.Pros: low profile, with the added safety of side handlesSturdyTreads help with keeping little feet in stepsBeautiful designCan be used for yearsCons: treads can get dirty/caked food. Need to be washed with soap and water.Children can fall over the edge of the stool if moved away from the counter (we have a firm rule that the stool ONLY stays in one place in our kitchen)Kids can use vertical riser on the top tread as an additional “stair” to get on the counter (we have a firm rule about this too)As kids get older, they can lean against/over handles, risking toppling over them. By then, they are usually pretty sturdy on their feet and it’s less of an issue.

Super sturdy
This stepstool has now seen us through 2 kids with no signs of wear. It's incredibly sturdy, enough that I could easily get up with my kids when they were very young. The handles are great, and the tread is just right without being scratchy.

Good height for reaching the sink and kitchen counters
The pros: that this is a sturdy stool and it allows our 3 year old to wash her hands at the kitchen sink by herself. I like how the side handles are tall so there is no chance of her accidentally stepping off the side of it. Having read the reviews that complained that it slid on the kitchen floor, I bought some grippers to stick on the bottom of it and it stays in place. The cons: like some have mentioned, the gritty steps are really hard to clean. My daughter likes to sit on it to eat her oatmeal in the morning and it is really hard to get the oatmeal stains out. Bigger cons are safety. The stairs are not enclosed and she's fallen off once when trying to walk down while carrying a bowl. But I think the enclosed stool would have been annoying for her to climb into and out of, and my independent toddler would have rejected something that looked like a cage, so I made the choice to go with the open one. She also likes to stand on the top of the cross piece to reach the faucet, treating it like a third step (she's 36 inches -- I imagine once she gets a little taller she'll stop standing on that part). Knowing what I know now, I would still go with this stool over an enclosed one -- I just stand close when she uses it in case she falls.

Every home needs at least one
I'm rarely impressed but the construction of this was damn good. Everything ties together and reinforces so it is super sturdy. I weigh 230 ish and it held me up with no issues, can't imagine any kid under 15 would have an issue with it. Great buy good for years to come.

Perfect for the classroom
I was happy to find how easy this was to assemble and how sturdy it was. It supports first graders with ease and they are able to move it around the classroom library to access the higher book shelves all by themselves. I like that it has the sides for added safety and they are only narrow enough for one student at a time, which helps with safety as well.

I love the handles on the sides!
The media could not be loaded. I love the handles on the sides of the stairs. Easy to move around place to place for my toddler to use. The handles are a nice added safety. The material is sturdy well-made. I’ve had no issues with chipping. Looks nice and works well. Holds my weight and does the trick when you need some height.
