Wow wish I had this bike when I was a kid
We love this Bike!!! Looks and feels high end, built very sturdy feels safe, and the little has had a blast on it, we love the color, can’t compete with their brakes you can feel the smoothness when braking for your little one.

Outstanding kids bike for the price.
This 18" bike was purchased for a 4.5 year old (46" tall) who is riding without training wheels. Despite reservations that this bike would be too big, it is the perfect size with the seat down all the way and there is plenty of room to grow.Assembly took about 20 minutes and the only tools that were needed was an Alan wrench, socket set and Phillip screwdriver. Most of this time was actually spent unpacking the bike which was wrapped heavily in cardboard and other protective material. Actual assembly time was closer to 10 minutes. The only fine tuning required was the front break and everything else went together smoothly. I liked how the handlebars are adjustable so I was able to angle them inward for the shorter arm reach.I did remove the plastic number plate off the handlebars because I didn't like the look. Otherwise this is a sharp looking and sturdy kids bike that should be good for two to three years of use. I also liked that it came with a kick stand which most other bikes tend to come without these days. This is a shout out to Amazon Warehouse Deals for a Used - Very Good item that only had a banged up box and otherwise appeared brand new for $60 less than a new bike. Most sizes and colors had numerous items on Amazon Warehouse Deals so there is a good chance you'll be able to save some money on this bike. Funny thing is this item actually came with two sets of pedals, when most items tend to be missing parts, so if you get this item and are missing pedals let me know and I've got you covered.

Great bike
We got this one for our granddaughter's fifth birthday and it was a hit. It was super easy to assemble and the design and sturdiness of the bike was excellent. Schwinn has always been a good name for bikes so I felt this was a good choice for her first two wheeler. She had an easy time riding and loved it. In fact, it was such a hit that we bought a second one for her sister who will be turning 3 this month. She's tall for her age and loved riding her sister's bike. She chose a different color and is really happy with it. Only downside is the lack of a kick stand which we will need once the training wheels come off. It would be nice to have a matching stand rather than the chrome color that can be purchased separately. The basket is also a bit flimsy and could break after several falls once the training wheels come off and the bike hits the ground. These are all minor inconveniences as the overall quality of the bike seems really good. It's only our first month so we'll have to see how the two bikes hold up after this summer.

4.5 stars, kid loves his first bike!
The media could not be loaded. Bought this as a first bike for my 6yo. He’s 3ft 11inches tall and the 18 inch fits him perfectly, with a little room to grow. The bike is black and sleek. Tires work well. We had to add more air into them prior to riding it. Training wheels were super easy to install and take off when my 6yo was done with them. He learned to ride two wheels on this bike. It rides smooth. It’s a bit heavy. Even for me to lift on the bike rack but I manage. My kiddo can pick it up when it falls on the ground. Just not the lightest bike.Docking a half star because assembly went along great until the very end when we had to make sure the brakes worked. The instructions were poor for troubleshooting the brakes and a screw was stripped prior to us assembling it. It did take two adults to assemble in less than an hour, plus we took it to a local bike shop to have the brakes checked. It was a minor annoyance; still recommend this bike.

A Great Bike for Smaller Kids
Reading some of these reviews had me a bit concerned. I believe that many are written by individuals expecting the bike to arrive ready to ride. This is not the case. You should avoid making this purchase if you are not mechanically inclined. With that said, assembly is not difficult. This will include adjusting the hand brakes. These are the items usually already done for you when purchasing from a bike shop.A lot of reviews mention issues with the crank bearings failing. I believe this is caused either by they way the bike is shipped or by kids dropping the bike on its side too frequently after removing the training wheels. That is because the crank housing is plastic. It’s the only thing that is lacking of typical Schwinn quality. When the bike arrived at my house, it was clearly marked not to place the package on its side. The delivery person did so anyway. Before I even pulled it out of the box, I checked to make sure it was not damaged and that there were no missing parts. Good to go!This is a very nice kid’s bike and my son loves it. The bike is fairly lite for having a steel frame. If your kids requires an 18 inch model or smaller, I would recommend it. If you are looking for a 20 inch model, I would consider another model or brand, especially if your kid is an aggressive rider.Good luck!

Forget the other guys! Stick with Shwinn
Great bike. Value is perfect. Other bikes seemed like and ungodly amount for a first bike. My husband easily assembled this bike in about 20 min. Aired up the tires and our kiddo was ready to ride. The bike is so well built and sturdy!
